Hello to the wonderful people of Illinois, it’s your Republican state Senator Nicolas Casillas here because I care for the people of this glorious state. This state is filled with hard working and caring people, we love our city of Chicago filled with our deep dish pizzas, the historic Wrigley Field and the Bears. Being born and raised right outside of our great city of Chicago in the Arlington Heights neighborhood. I know what it's like to be from this area and I know what the people care about. As our republican senator and a representative of the republican party our goal is to encourage job growth and lower taxes. We will to do this by building a efficient, translucent, moral state government with lower taxes and a decrease in regulations. We are going to leave our mark by responsible government which will leave a lasting impression for generations to come.

In the great state of Illinois we have a population of 12,802,023 people which was tested on July 1st, 2017. We our proud to see that 88.3% of the population have graduated from high school or higher. We also love to see that from an Economy point of view, in our Civilian labor force, total, percentage of population ages 16 years and up was at 65.4%. From the business side there are 318,266 total employer establishments.
The 2016 Presidential election returns from the great state of Illinois was that Hillary Clinton received 55.4% of the votes which came out to be 2,977,498 people. Donald Trump on the other hand got 39.4% of votes which was 2,118,179 of the population.

PUERTO RICO STATEHOOD

When it comes to puerto rico statehood myself and the state of Illinois are in favor for these people to become this nation’s 51st states. For this U.S. territory it has been enough time of patiently waiting under U.S law to become a state. These people are to obey the law the U.S Congress makes even though they are without any representation. This territory are without any Congressmen and Senators that can properly fight for the people of Puerto Rico just like every state. The U.S congress should only consider two options which is whether or not to make Puerto Rico the 51st state or give them their independence.
A BILL ENDING THE WAR ON DRUGS AND REPEALING THE MARIJUANA TAX ACT

A Bill Ending the War on Drugs and Repealing the Marijuana Tax Act is an issue that is greatly talked about by the people of Illinois. We as a state are all in favor for a Bill Ending the War on Drugs and Repealing the Marijuana Tax Act. My biggest issue is the overpopulation of prison for petty offenses like Marijuana. The amount of money the U.S Government spends on drug enforcement, prisons and the stoppage of drugs is substantial. Marijuana should be decriminalized nationwide and open for Medical purposes.
